The weather
Throughout the year, temperatures in Biarritz fluctuate from 13° in January to 26° in August. The ocean temperature also varies from 12° to 21°!

The coastal part of the Basque Country benefits from a temperate climate with hot summers but no dry season, which is why the vegetation always remains green and abundant.
The weather during the summer is mostly mild, but changeable and occasionally allows for some small ephemeral clouds to form. The Basque coast enjoys an oceanic climate, which is characterized by mild, humid and rainy winters and hot but cool summers at night.

If you want to enjoy the mountains, it is best to come in April, May and June, for a cooler and more refreshing climate.
If you want to enjoy the beach, the sunniest months are June, July, August and September.
The beaches are supervised every day during the summer, from June to September, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (these dates and times may vary depending on the municipality)
During the summer and fall you can observe splendid sunsets with pastel colors. Get your cameras ready!
The tides
Surfing is at its most athletic during the months of April, May, June and September. It is very affordable in July and August. Surfing can be practiced all year round, as long as you are not cold!
If you want to surf, it is best to bring a wetsuit and anticipate the rising tides. You can buy a tide calendar or look at the forecasts on the internet.
