mountains in the basque country hiking from the oaym campsite

We have chosen to name the accommodations that you book at the OYAM campsite in reference to the mountains of the Basque Country.

Our accommodations will take you hiking from Jaizkibel to Baigura, passing through Iparla via the Ispeguy pass, Iguski, Larrun and Artzamendi. Along the way, don't hesitate to venture to the summit of Behorleguy, Urchilo or even Hostateguy and Ereby.

Enjoy accommodation just a stone's throw from the mountains of the 64 but also from the beaches, there is something for everyone! Put on your walking shoes hiking and enjoy a nature stay for a zen vacation.

With family or friends, children can pet the wild horses and parents can have a coffee on the terrace while admiring the Basque Country from the sky.

On one side the cliffs and ocean beaches, on the other, always in view, the splendid lights on the mountains in the background.

Between the Urumea and Bidasoa rivers stands the imposing and massive mountain range of the Three Crowns (Peña de Aia – Aiako Harria). Its unique beauty, highlighted by a characteristic silhouette, is coupled with a great geological interest. It is the only granite mountain range in the Basque Country.

IMPORTANT

During your walks in the Basque mountains, you will undoubtedly come across “pottoks” (small Basque horses) roaming free. They are very friendly but remain a little wild, so don’t scare them.

The Oyam campsite is part of the Airotel group of high-end campsites. Airotel campsites remain independent and are all driven by the search for excellence in outdoor hospitality in the Basque Country and in France.
