Just 40 km from the OYAM campsite, San Sebastien will allow you to taste the delights of the Spanish Basque Country.
Several districts will appeal to lovers of old buildings and gourmets as well as families and surfers looking for fine sandy beaches and beautiful waves;
The beaches of San Sebastian:
- Ondarreta Beach offers 500 meters of blond sand to relax, sunbathe or go face the waves of the Atlantic Ocean by surfing or body boarding.
- La Concha beach is huge and is located on the edge of the city. Passers-by stroll and sit on a bench watching children play in the sand and the many bathers in these waters sheltered from the waves. The concha (shell) is the symbol of the city.
- La zuriola beach offers a privileged place for young people and surfers. Around, bars and shopping are appreciated by locals and vacationers alike. Dynamic and popular, it is the place in San Sebastian where nature blends with the city.
Basque gastronomy is in the spotlight in the old town at the foot of Mount URGUll in the romantic alleys of the city. Pintxos and other tapas accompanied by a glass of Basque cider will immerse you in the nightlife in Spanish time. Around the Plaza de la Constitucion, you will find many tapas bars and restaurants.
In this same district there is a large, ultra-modern shopping center for shopping lovers.
Parks, alleys, a river (urumea) that crosses it, this city offers a lot to those who take the time to discover everything.
San Seb, is only 40 km from Bidart, or a 45-minute drive, but you can get there by train (the TOPO) from Hendaye for greater ease and to avoid looking for a “rare” parking space.
