THE camping holidays on the Basque coast are for many an opportunity to discover surfing or for enthusiasts to tackle new spots and different waves.
Bidart center spot: This is a spot called Beach break where the sandbanks that move with the tides and the weather offer waves that are often beautiful and powerful quite close to the shore. To the north of the beach, in front of the cliff, rocks raise beautiful waves that are more technical and more dangerous at low tide.
Parliamentia Spot: Wave disputed by the two neighboring towns of Guéthary and Bidart. One thing is certain is the worldwide reputation of this reef break a little far from the shore and really not recommended for beginners. Indeed, the power of the wave, the mobility of the Pic which regularly shifts from one series to another do not leave room for improvisation, nor for novices not used to the size of the waves, to stay underwater for a long time and to position themselves well to avoid disturbing others. Spot for experienced surfers!
Uhabia Spot: Beach break that works well at high tide and offers beautiful waves up to 1.50m maximum. Located on both sides of the river that flows into the ocean, the spot is original and the large beach welcomes many vacationers in summer.
Biarritz center spot: For the Glamour side, French surfing was born in Biarritz (spot on the Basque coast). The spot is beautiful with magnificent rocks in the water and the feeling of surfing in the city. Beach break of variable quality and quite crowded on weekends and in summer but very photogenic to bring back beautiful memories of your vacation in Biarritz.
Corner spots: Several waves of sand in Anglet with names known to aficionados: the VVF, Les sables d'or, the corsairs etc.
