Come with your children to the beach in the Basque Country

beach-security-basque-country-camping

You will come to the Basque Country camping and your baby or toddler will be exposed to many temperature changes. Cool in the evening, high heat during the day, water colder than air etc.

Here we will try to make you think about the most important steps to take to make your vacation a pleasure.

The beach: Avoid the hottest time between 11:30 and 16:30, plus it's mealtime and naptime for little ones. Stay cool and hydrated to go later.

Don't forget sunscreen, with a higher SPF for little ones (SPF 50), take a cap, a special swimming T-shirt (anti-UV) and small plastic sandals (which we used to call jellyfish sandals) to avoid stepping on a stone or a piece of glass (yes, yes, some people still do that, throw glass), to avoid being stung by a weever fish.

Bring something to drink and an umbrella in addition to towels and swimsuits.

Respect the flags and the bathing areas marked out by the lifeguards on the beach to avoid strong currents invisible to the naked eye even when there are no waves.

A small snack is important because after swimming, you get hungry.

We keep our sunglasses on when playing but we take them off in the water because a wave could whip the face and hurt the child if he wears his glasses.

To ensure that your camping holiday on the Basque coast remains a real pleasure, always be vigilant and don't forget that shuttles take you to the different beaches of Bidart, Biarritz and Anglet from the OYAM campsite. A small, light windbreaker can be useful to avoid drafts on the bus. It would be a shame if he caught a cold in summer.

See you soon
